Rachel Tansey

Rachel Tansey was appointed Treasurer/CFO of Green Local Schools effective April 23, 2024. She has dedicated her entire career to education, serving as both a teacher and executive administrator for Elaine High School (Arkansas), Oberlin College, and Lorain City Schools. For sixteen years, Ms. Tansey served Lorain City Schools as Executive Director of Federal Programs and Grants, where she was responsible for managing a $78 million budget. Most recently, she served as Treasurer of Sheffield–Sheffield Lake City Schools.

Ms. Tansey graduated with honors from The College of Wooster in 1994 and is proud to be a Smithie.

The financial team’s priorities include strong stewardship of taxpayer resources and a commitment to open, transparent financial analysis and reporting. As a former teacher, Ms. Tansey understands the importance of balancing fiscal responsibility with providing students the highest-quality educational opportunities through efficient and effective operations. 

Ms. Tansey maintains an open-door policy and welcomes questions, feedback, and conversation from staff and community members at any time.
