Art
Every year the elementary students of Green Local learn the history of a variety of artists and cultures based on the Ohio State Standards for Visual Arts. They learn how to view works of art and form opinions, while recognizing that others may have different opinions. They practice artistic skills and use many different art materials and gain confidence through experience. They make connections with the arts and the core subjects to make meaningful learning experiences. They recognize the various reasons for making art and how art has changed throughout history. Teaching your children how to be creative and have an appreciation of the arts is the most important part of this art program. Practicing creativity regularly builds problem solving and critical thinking skills, builds autonomy and free expression, and most importantly, builds your child’s confidence. Your children are the future mathematicians, scientists, teachers, doctors, business owners and inventors. Their future success will be enhanced by their creative thinking.
