At Green Local Schools, we are very proud of our teachers and feel they are ready for the coming school year and are prepared to give your child a high-quality education. The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) section 1111(h)(6)(A) states that as a parent of a school receiving Title 1 funds you have the right to know the professional qualifications of the classroom teachers and paraprofessionals instructing your child. Federal law requires the school district to provide you this information in a timely manner upon request. Specifically, you have the right to request the following information about each of your child’s classroom teachers: Whether the teacher meets the state qualifications and licensing criteria for the grades and subjects he or she teaches. Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or provisional status because of special circumstances. The teacher’s college major, whether the teacher has any advanced degrees, and the field of discipline of the certification or degree. Whether paraprofessionals provide services to your child and, if so, their qualifications. Our staff is committed to helping your child develop the academic knowledge and critical thinking he/she needs to succeed in school and beyond. That commitment includes making sure that all of our teachers and paraprofessionals are highly skilled. If you would like to receive specific information related to teacher and/or paraprofessionals qualifications, please contact us at 330-669-3921.
